Kenyan junior teams have been out of action for several years

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) has appointed a team of coaches to oversee upcoming age-group team competitions set for August.

Former Kenyan international and Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) tactician Sila Makiso headlines a list that has Trailblazers head coach Geoffrey Omondi and grassroots coach attached to Kimbo Academy, Gideon Njine

The three will guide the national boys' team to the 2024 Boys' U18 African Nations Volleyball Championship set for next month.

Meanwhile, a bench of three has also been named to guide the Women's U20 teams for the African Nations Volleyball Championship, which will take place in Tunisia from 22 August to 31 August.

Renowned youth coach Justin Kigwari has been named to the women's team. The Kwanthanze head coach is joined by Catherine Mabwi and David Muthui

"The recruitment drive has been actively conducted across all regions and will conclude during the national secondary school games in Kisumu next week," the federation announced indicating that the school games would serve as the selection process for the two teams.
